Tour Highlights:
- Get to know the Kilgus Family and their animal care practices.
- View the milking parlor and learn about the milking process.
- Meet the Jersey heifers, steers, and Berkshire hogs residing on the farm.

Tour Logistics
Cost: $5/person (ages 2 and under are free) and includes a FREE ice cream cone made with Kilgus Farmstead milk at the end of the tour
Length: 60-75 minutes depending on group size
Age: all ages are welcome but please note that the tour is educational focused and highly informational, therefore, best suited for ages 6 and older
Ability: the tour involves walking and standing for over a mile; while strollers are allowed, they may get dirty and cannot be used in certain areas; unfortunately, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs due to the farm’s varied terrain
Group Size: regular, family tours (available dates listed below) can accommodate up to 15-20 guests; large group tours (i.e. clubs, organizations, school groups, etc.) are considered based on size, requested date, and our staff and facility availability
Tour Rules
Arrival: Tours start and end at the Kilgus Farmstead Country Store — 21471 E 670 North Rd, Fairbury, IL 61739. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the tour starts. The tour promptly begins with a viewing of the animals outside.
Dress Attire: Please dress for the weather as we’ll be outdoors for most of the tour. Expect mud if it’s raining or has rained recently. Old, closed-toed shoes are recommended. We currently require all guests to wear disposable, plastic booties, that will be provided.
Payment: The tour cost: is $5/person ages 2 and above. No payment is needed to reserve your tour. Please pay before the start of the tour at the Country Store.
Please note: we ONLY accept cash and personal checks only at our Country Store.
Cancelations: If you are unable to make it to your tour, please let us know as far in advance as possible (at least 24 hours) so we can offer your spot to someone else. We may cancel tours due to inclement weather.
Visitor Conduct: As you tour our Farmstead, please remember that it is also our home. While we enjoy sharing about ourselves and our animals, we ask that you treat our farmstead with the same respect you would show as a guest in someone else’s home. We ask that guests…

- We care about our animals and our guests. Due to biosecurity, we ask that you do not touch/pet any of the animals.
- Any guests ignoring these rules or any requests made by the tour host may be asked to leave the tour at any time.
